Jefferson P. Jones Art meets Art of the Pilgrim

I am excited to be relaunching my website, and beginning to go in a new direction with the art I choose to share online.

Those who are familiar with my artwork and website would know me for my nature art, my Federal Duck Stamp entries, and related works. I still truly love to spend time conveying the innate beauty of God’s creation onto a paper or canvas, and capturing the essence of something beautiful.

Over the past few years, an area of art that has captured my imagination, my reverence, and my attempts at beauty, has been religious art. I am especially drawn to Orthodox Iconography, as well as to late-Gothic and early-Renaissance styles such as that of Giotto. In much of my current art, I seek to develop a style that pulls from both.

As I begin again to share more of my art with the world, for leisure, for prayer, and for enjoyment, I hope that the symbolism and artistry inspire an appreciation of something greater: beyond the awe of creation, a reflection of the Divine itself. I humbly leave my pursuit of success in the hands of God.
